The beginning of the end

With every football season there is an end that is inevitable. The end is by far the hardest part. You watch as all your senior teammates and friends strap on a helmet for the final time. As they walk away from the game forever the actual hard work begins the off season in football is by far the toughest thing you have to endure during your playing days. All the weight lifting the conditioning all the coaches screaming at you to work harder. It is hell on earth but when it is all said and done you win and lose all your games in the off season. It doesn't matter what you can do on the field the off season is all about who wants it more and who doesn't want to give up. It is by far one of the hardest challenges you will ever have to go through. Who is going to forgo going to the party and go get an extra workout in or who will study film harder. Who wants to achieve greatness more. The football season has to be one of the hardest things to be a part of and being there at the end of peoples careers are incredibly sad and I have no idea how some of the coaches do it year in and year out. Many of the coaches have seen fantastic players walk in and walk out of the program and that is an incredibly hard thing to do no matter how hard it may get it will always be worth it in the end. I am nowhere near ready to end my college career I have two years left and I feel like that is nowhere near enough time for me to get done what I need to get done it will be an incredibly long ride and I am so ready to accomplish what I want to.

Winning and losing

When people say that you learn more from losing then you do from winning that really makes me upset because if you would have learned the lesson the first time maybe you would have never lost the first time. So it makes very little sense to me that when you win you can't learn from your mistakes. Winning is everything and if you don't believe that winning is the most important thing that there is then I don't understand your outlook on life. Champions are what the world is made up of so why not make it happen. Why don't you go take whats yours and leave no regret out there on the field. This is one of the hardest things you will ever have to endure and being on the losing side of things has to be an awful experience. The more you win the easier it is to come back and achieve even greater things. The fact of the matter is winning is everything no matter what anyone try's to tell you. Winning will always hold a special place in my heart because it is what i want to do with the rest of my life i want to win in everything that i do and i don't care what it takes or who i am with i will achieve what i want to achieve.

The trap game

football is one of the hardest games to not fall into the trap or quicksand. Quicksand is when one thing goes wrong and that just causes it to snowball and all it does is tumble downward from there. In the movie Every Given Sunday it is said the best when the pre game speech it occured, it said, "I don't know what to say really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to today. Either we heal as a team or we are going to crumble. Inch by inch play by play till we're finished. We are in hell right now, gentlemen believe me and we can stay here and get the shit kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch, at a time. Now I can't do it for you. I'm too old. I look around and I see these young faces and I think I mean I made every wrong choice a middle age man could make. I uh.... I pissed away all my money believe it or not. I chased off anyone who has ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know when you get old in life things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out that life is just a game of inches. So is football. Because in either game life or football the margin for error is so small. I mean one half step too late or to early you don't quite make it. One half second too slow or too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in ever break of the game every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch. Cause we know when we add up all those inches that's going to make the fucking difference between WINNING and LOSING between LIVING and DYING. I'll tell you this in any fight it is the guy who is willing to die who is going to win that inch. And I know if I am going to have any life anymore it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch because that is what LIVING is. The six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You gotta look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes. Now I think you are going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. You are going to see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows when it comes down to it, you are gonna do the same thing for him. That's a team, gentlemen and either we heal now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys. That's all it is. Now, whattaya gonna do?" This speech is one of the greatest speeches of all time and i believe that it needed to be said in my blog

physicality

The sport of football is the best sport to watch if you want to watch something with lots of violence anger and aggression this is the sport that you need to be apart of. There is no greater feeling than knocking some guy off the ball against his will. It is a dog eat dog world and its a street fight for sixty minutes. It is one of the funnest things in the world to do and thats to come off the ball and hit someone in the mouth. Feed them the screws and blow them up. Snot bubbles greasy eyes whatever it all has to make you feel good. It is a great sport it is amazing. Ray lewis said it best it is all about effort no matter what happens you can control effort no matter what is happening or going on. Being the most physical people on the field no matter what happens you will need to man up and put people on there back. It will be one of the greatest feats you will ever go through if you are able to put another guy on there back against their will. It will be a great to be able to say that you were able to put another kid on his back or into his bench in front of his hometown and family. It is basically saying hey i am a ton better than you don't question it.

Hard work

When you think of football what word comes to mind? Many I am assuming. Hard work is by far the most important thing a team can do. If you work hard you can overcome many things. Talent is a great thing to have but if you don't have any work ethic then there is really no point in being talented. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. Some people with the best talent in the world have yet to make it out of high school because they are lazy or its to hard and they don't want to do it. Well guess what those people will and can fail in life. Football is the game of life played out before your eyes. What are you going to do when you are backed up against the wall? you going to crumble or are you going to grow a backbone and do what you are capable of. It doesn't matter what they other person is doing it only matters what you can do to make the teams dream come true. What are you gonna do sit there and get beat up or stand up and fight back its all a choice. You make the choice of what you wanna do? SO are you gonna sit there and do nothing or beat the people in front of you the choice is all yours.

Adversity

There is a quote about adversity that says everyone can be upbeat when things are going good, but what do those people do when the shit is hitting the fan what is going to happen when things are going south how are you going to overcome what is thrown at you. Many people will just give up and crawl up into a hole and pretend like everything is okay and forget about how hard they have worked. All that matters is what you are doing and how you respond because people around you will take you as a leader and do what you do. Sometimes some emotion is better than no emotion sometimes it is better to have a negative reaction then to just sit there and take it. Everything does not always go right sometimes things go terribly wrong and that is when you have to be positive you have to fight back you need to get up and make sure that you are the one who wins the game makes the best block make the best play

Team

In football the most important aspect of the entire sport is team. If you let the team down chances are you caused a great disruption. Football is the ultimate team game and when one person screws up the entire team feels the pain. Quitting is the worst thing you can possibly doing it is demoralizing to watch is a team with a lack of chemistry it is terrible to try and watch or be a part of the team that has no chemistry this causes the team to lose a lot more than they win. If people really cared about the team and not themselves it would be incredibly easy to win ball games but people are way to worried about records and themselves which is the worse thing a person can do. It is a distraction to the entire ball club and more often than not when you see a team on a long losing streak you can see many players blaming each other rather than taking the blame themselves. If you ever notice any of the symptoms of a bad team you should get a team meeting together and try to sort it out amongst themselves. Instead of trying to blame everyone look to yourself and what you can do to change the happening on your team. its all about the team
